I know I am a pest control professional. I can handle pest issues that most people wouldn’t touch, but I don’t like reptiles or amphibians. That’s why I have a friend on speed dial.

Michelle and I became friends when we worked together for a previous company. We quickly found we were both quirky, funny, and liked cats. But, the best part… each one of us is afraid of some type of pest control situation. Luckily, it’s not the same situation, so we compliment each other.
I won’t go near a snake. Michelle can identify them by a picture, and will come get them. Michelle is petrified of spiders, so I am her saving grace with my work boot crunching them.

Michelle and I spent a lot of time working together. Servicing commercial customers was our thing, as we both have a food processing background. At one point in each of our careers, we worked for competing milling companies – me in operations, she in quality. Then we both found our way to full time pest control, servicing those same milling companies we used to work for.

Michelle and I no longer work for the same company. She moved on to a veterinary medical lab for a bit. Now she is back in a quality lab, protecting animal food. She is a softy for fur babies.
I left the company where I made a great friend, to work for the competition. It took me a year after that to realize I needed to follow my dream of being my own boss. Owning a pest control company is where I’m at now.
I haven’t gotten to see my friend, Michelle, in several months, but I know we can count on each other for a great phone call. And it’s not necessarily about spiders or snakes.
